Introduction

The deadline for Submit Online Application is on Monday 09, December 2024.

​The applicants of Chinese Government Scholarship Program 2025-26 are those who have secured a valid HAT score (score obtained on or after December 09, 2022 is valid) or USAT score (score obtained on or after December 09, 2023 is valid). Applicants are supposed to submit the valid score on the HEC portal at the time of application submission.

The Chinese Government Scholarship Council aims to advance scholastic collaboration among China and Pakistan. Thus, the Chinese Government Scholarship Council as of now provides opportunities to Pakistani students and researchers to do research or study at Chinese universities. As a choosing organization for the Government of Pakistan, HEC nominates the accompanying scholarships for the 2025-26 scholastic session.

The China Scholarship Council is an administrative body established by the Ministry of Instruction of Individuals' Republic of China. It registers and administers the Chinese Government Scholarship Program. Candidates qualified under this scholarship program can apply for any subject course presented in the undergraduate/bachelor's, master's, and doctoral/PhD programs.

Program Offered

Chinese Government Scholarship Program sponsor international students, teachers, and scholars to undertake degree studies (Undergraduate, Masters & PhD) including preparatory Chinese language studies for one year in some degree programs.

* Preliminary Chinese language concentrate on year is obligatory for Undergrad programs anyway can be excluded for the competitor with previously having Chinese Capability of HSK level 3 (legitimacy period: 2 years). For Mastersand PhD, Chinese and English showed programs are offered generally in Chinese Universities for Pakistani understudies.

Eligibility Criteria

• Pakistani/AJ&K national. Candidates with dual nationality are not eligible to apply.
• Applicant must have sound health.
• Applicants with incomplete degree till date application is closed, shall not be eligible for applying.
• Applicants for Undergraduate/BA programmes must have completed intermediate/A-level/FA-FSc (12 years) of education and should not be more than 25 years of age on date of application.
• Bachelor's degree applicants from the Masters program should have a minimum 16 years education background and should not be above 35 years of age at the time of application.
• Ph.D. /Doctoral program applicants must have a Master's degree and MS/MPhil. Candidate should not exceed 40 years of age at the time of application.
• Candidate meets the eligibility criteria of application requirement prescribed on China Scholarship Council website & portal.
• Relevant academic qualification that meets the admission requirement of the applied universities in terms of eligibility for admission.
• Language proficiency whichever is applicable

• To avoid conflicting scholarships applicants may not be currently receiving any other kind of scholarship.
• Supporting documents 
• HAT or Usat score: HAT for masters/phd and USAT for undergraduate. The minimum HAT or USAT test score should be 50 out of 100. If it is less than that amount, the applications will not be taken into consideration in the further process for those applicants without giving minimum HAT or USAT test score (50 out of 100). The validity period of the test is two years for HAT, and one year for USAT. For this scholarship, the applicant should have already received a valid HAT score obtained on or after 09 December 2022 or USAT score on or after 09 December 2023.

Financial Coverage

Tuition Funds: Tuition funds will be judiciously used by the host university. It can include education, administration expenses, health insurance and costs towards student activities.

Accommodation: Free university dormitory or subsidy of accommodation to each recipient.

Stipend: As per China Govt. Scholarship policy.

Travel Expenditure: Travel cost will be borne by the recipients of the scholarship. HEC will have no financial liability in any case.

How to Apply?

All necessary requirements to be duly completed, correct, and accurate should be reflected on the online application form and attached documents.

• Apply Online at: http://scholarship.hec.gov.pk/ After registration and filling of your profile, please click "Learning Opportunities Abroad". For online submission of the application, kindly obtain a printed copy signed by the applicant. HEC Online Application portal will close on Monday, 09th December 2024 (04.00 PM Pakistan Standard Time).​
• Please update your HEC profile with latest email/cell number & updated information before submitting the application. You are advised to complete and submit your application as early as possible in the days leading to the application deadline since the online application system will be very busy. On successful submission of application at HEC portal, Retain Printed Copy Application Form Signed By Yourself.
• Submit online application at CSC web portal at http://www.campuschina.org/ or https://www.csc.edu.cn/ through program Type: A and Agency No.5861. Download submitted copy of complete application form from Chinese Scholarship Council portal, print & retain a signed copy with yourself.
• For further guidance on Chinese Govt. scholarship scheme, download Instructions for Chinese Government Scholarship​ and fill the Chinese Govt. Scholarship online application form on CSC portal.
• All online applications must be submitted on CSC & HEC portal. In case the application is not submitted through any of the above two portals, then candidature will not be accepted.

Note: Hard Copies of the applications are NOT required at this stage. Hand-delivered or incomplete/saved applications on portal will NOT be entertained in any case.

Required Documents

​As perspective applicants submit no document (hard copies) at this application stage to HEC. These short-listed candidates will send the following documents in English or Chinese. If in any other language, then they must have attached with the notarized translation both in English and Chinese. Perspective applicants are, therefore, hereby advised, in order to avoid any hassle later on, prepare an application dossier strictly as per following details:( Chinese Government Scholarship Application.docx​ )

• Separate copying of signed HEC application form in spiral binding. All other documents should not be attached to the application form of HEC.
• Signed copy of CSC application portal with following documents
• Photo copied attested all educational documents, one photocopy of CNIC/B-form, Domicile, IBCC equivalency certificate (if applicable) and HEC equivalency if applicable.
• Research Proposal Chinese or English, Usually more than 200 words for undergraduates, than 500 words for non-degree students, and more than 800 words for postgraduate students. Language proficiency certificate IELTS/TOEFL/HSK score if required
• Photocopy of ordinary passport valid till March 01, 2026 with the first two pages.
• All photocopies of the Physical Examination Record for foreigners must be written in English. A copy must be left to applicant. It encompasses all items of the physical examinations in the Physical Examination Record, especially basic blood tests reports for foreigners, as the relevant policy of the China Government holds.
• Application form is invalid if it does not bear the signature of the attending physician, sealed photograph of applicant or does not bear an official stamp of the hospital. The result is valid for only 6 months and the applicant may choose any convenient time for the required physical examination prior to submitting it.
• Police Clearance Certificate not exceeding six months preceding the date of submission of criminal record.
• Obtain the Pre-admission letter (if any), for Masters & PhD, from the targeted universities before submitting the online application. HEC/CSC would not be responsible if the enrollment of the target university is not made in case no preadmission notice is obtained from the applicant. Applications for Masters & PhD with admission documents will have priority to win the Chinese Government Scholarships.
• Attach two letters of recommendation in Chinese or English, issued by professors or associate professors, to the application. ​​​​
• After entering service, NOC issued by the applicant's employer will be required
• Applicants less than 18 years old should attach the valid documents of their legal guardians in China​​

Additional Instructions:

• Ensure that your e-mail, phone no., postal address etc are correctly filled in the application system since they are vital parts of successful completion of an application process. If one fails to reply within the timelines set to HEC or CSC, it will automatically reject.
• Applicants shall ensure that clear, valid, and genuine scan copy of all necessary documents is submitted on both portals. The applicants will bear the consequences of any unclear or unidentified material uploaded.
• Any candidate who misrepresents himself/herself at any stage of the scholarship process may forfeit his/her scholarship, and get debarred from all future scholarships, except penalty as decided by HEC.
• Apply through HEC portal www.scholarship.hec.gov.pk Deadline: Monday 09th December 2024 Do not submit hard copies of application forms and other documents with HEC at this stage of applying.
• You will apply using an online application form found through the portal of the China Scholarship Council. Category is A and agency no. 5861. Campus china or https://www.csc.edu.cn/laihua.
• Incomplete applications saved on the HEC or CSC portal will not be entertained. Hand-submitted applications will also not be entertained.
